Follow these instructions if you are a Saint Meinrad student or graduate.
You must apply in writing to the Director of Graduate Theology Programs at least one semester prior to registering for Directed Research or Supervised Ministry Practicum.
Since we consider your academic performance from prior coursework, we recommend that you complete at least one course in the area of study before applying.
You must receive approval by the faculty member specific to the area of research. We do not guarantee your admittance.
1) submit a letter of intent to the Director of Continuing Formation, to include:
the Specialization, Post-Degree or Non-Degree Certificate you intend to pursue
the faculty member you will request to help direct your research
2) submit a one-page essay addressing:
your reason for interest in the particular area of study
your current competence (include current academic standing and related experience, as well as extracurricular experience related to area of study)
Review of application for acceptance will include a review of current transcripts, previous coursework and an overall impression by previous instructors, as applicable.
Follow these instructions if:
you do not hold a master's degree in theology or
your master's degree in theology is from another graduate institution.
1) complete the standard application form, indicating which graduate specialization certificate you intend to pursue;
2) have transcripts sent confirming your bachelor's degree (and, where applicable, your master's in theology);
3) submit a two-page essay addressing:
your reason for interest in the particular area of study
your current competence (include current academic standing and related experience, as well as extracurricular experience related to area of study)
4) complete an interview with the Director of Graduate Programs.
