Introduction

The Guest Services Associate serves as the primary ambassador of Saint Meinrad Archabbey. You’re the smiling face that provides friendly, welcoming, and efficient service to all guests, exemplifying the Benedictine vision and values, principally of hospitality (receiving all guests as Christ). This position would require every other weekend work, plus willingness to fill in as needed.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to guests and visitors
  • Assist guests and visitors including meeting, greeting, arrival/departure details, and attending to their needs
  • Responsible for the operation of the switchboard
  • Operate digital paging system
  • Maintain the monastic community sign-out sheet
  • Coordinate orders for CACD Project Warm
  • Coordinate delivery and return of rental vehicles
  • Knowledgeable of and adhere to all safety procedures; assist in evacuation/take shelter in the event of an emergency
  • Participate in all required training such as first aid, health and safety, guest service, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Hospitality

Experience & Qualifications

Education: High school

Experience: 6–12 months

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and ability to operate telephone equipment, computer, and paging equipment
  • Organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills and ability to do billing
  • Ability to handle minor emergencies
  • Neat appearance and professional dress
