"I've made it a habit for myself and my husband to introduce ourselves to more young adults in the parish. We've met a few couples that we see regularly at church, and it's exciting to see our community growing, and actually put names to these now familiar faces."
"We currently have nine young adults in our OCIA process, which in itself is amazing! Interacting with these young men and women and getting them connected with ministries has been life-giving. There is one in our choir, one active in the young adult gatherings, and three registered for a book club on the Rosary, which runs for four weeks in October."
"This past month, we had Alpha start back up for four small groups of young adults! We also had a Theology On Tap with two guest speakers for a Men vs. Women night and bonfire! Our Encounter adoration night had 10 young adults attend, and our Women's Brunch had 25 young women come to our tea party and talk on NFP! I also got to go for a hike with a young adult going through a divorce. A very fruitful month!"
"We began weekly adoration after Bible study, and that has been very successful and fruitful."
"Our most exciting aspect of Young Adult Ministry this month was to see two new young adult members welcomed to our parish pastoral council. This is significant in the representation they now have at the parish level. What a big win!"
"In September, our Young Adults and Young Families group, experienced (still experiencing) a tragedy with one young family. The father of 10 children collapsed while helping another couple move due to financial issues. He has had on-going heart issues, but he did not recover from this collapse and passed away. So many, not just from our parish, but also the community overall have been reaching out in prayer and other ways (meal train, etc.) One leader helped me create a 54-day Novena to St. Joseph digital sign-up list at the request of this newly widowed, home schooling, unemployed mother. Her children range from ages 1 to 16. The list is filling up quickly with prayer partners for her. Speaking with her on the phone was both heartbreaking and inspiring. Her faithfulness in the midst of total despair was unwavering. I offered ideas for assistance and let her know that she is amazing!"
"Honestly, a beautiful moment occurred during our Young Adult Bonfire. We had a handful of new young adults attending their first event here at the Cathedral. They took to our community so well! I loved seeing them engage in games of giant Jenga and volleyball. I think it is beautiful witnessing a community becoming."
"I have been journeying with several young adults lately who are just feeling the burdens of life. It has been refreshing to witness the way that they turn to God for strength and stay faithful even when the world tells them to run and selfishly turn inwards."
