"The young adult group contacted a parishioner-run pregnancy crisis center, St. Gianna’s, and helped rotate and organize some of the clothing for the young ladies that stay at the center. Most of the volunteers at the center are elderly women that would struggle with the moving or assembling the various items."
"Our staff recently had two new young adults join, and hearing their stories has been incredible. They both enjoy going on mission trips and doing so much more than attending Mass. It has been great to see it in action and to hear the passion with which they talk about their work."
"We had the opportunity to spend time together outside our usual gatherings with a social outing to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where a small group of young adults participated in an escape room experience. Although the outing was a fun opportunity to build friendships, it also offered a meaningful reminder of our spiritual journey. Sometimes, our relationship with Christ can feel like being inside an escape room. We may feel stuck, unsure where to begin, or overwhelmed by the challenges and questions we face in our lives. We might search for answers in different places, trying to figure everything out on our own. Yet, just as an escape room requires patience, teamwork, communication, and trust, our journey of faith calls us to rely on Christ and support one another along the way. As young adults, we are navigating many different stages of life, and it can be challenging to remain connected to our faith while balancing work, family, relationships, and personal responsibilities. Through activities like this, we hope to create a welcoming community where young adults can build authentic friendships, feel a sense of belonging, and discover that they do not have to walk their faith journey alone. Our outing reminded us that even when we do not know the way forward, we can continue searching together, trusting that Christ is guiding us every step of the way."
"We experienced a grace-filled day taking 15 young adults on a pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal in Perryville, MO! From sharing a bus ride with our bishop to touring the church and relics, praying the outdoor Rosary, and sharing lunch together, God truly brought our community closer. I am grateful for the history learned, the prayers shared, and the wonderful new connections made along the way."
"We had a Marian Tea Time event for moms and their kids. I’ve been trying to find a balance between planning events to intentionally build fellowship and community among our young adults while also making sure that we leave time for organic moments of fellowship and community. It’s been so rewarding to hear other moms talking about having play dates with new friends that they’ve made at our young adult ministry events or at our young adult women’s Bible study. At the Marian tea time event, it was brought up that a few of us were going with our kiddos to the Halloween festival that was happening downtown. We all decided that we would meet up later that night! It could’ve just been a simple meet-up to say hi; however, we ended up spending almost the whole evening together! It was really neat to be on the receiving end of this organic time for community. It’s transitioned from being young adults that are living the same lives in close proximity to one another to now actually being an intentional part of each other’s lives and having genuine friendships with one another. Our kids have become friends, our spouses have become friends, it’s just so beautiful to step back and see it all blooming."
