"A young adult representative from the diocese had her parents drive up from Louisiana, and they hosted a seafood boil for our young adults and chatted about a Saint! It was really cool and was a huge success!"
"We had the kickoff to our Young Adult Speaker Series for the summer and so far, we had two events. I was only able to attend one, but it was incredible. I talked to quite a few people that I hadn't seen since last year's series, and it was so great to catch up. I also met a handful of new people that seem very interesting (in the most positive sense of the word), and I hope I can continue to get to know them better over the course of the summer."
"We had some outreach to the other Young Adult groups in Lexington. I think we are all on each other's GroupMe now!"
"This past May was an especially busy and grace-filled month for our ministry as we celebrated our Graduation Mass, hosted our Confirmation Retreat, and concluded with our Confirmation Mass. While these events required a great deal of planning and coordination, one of the greatest blessings I experienced was witnessing the emergence of several young adult leaders who stepped up to serve throughout all three events. Their willingness to give their time, energy, and talents made an incredible difference. They welcomed others, took initiative, handled responsibilities with maturity, and served with joyful hearts. Watching them grow into leadership roles reminded me that ministry is not meant to be carried alone. As a ministry leader, one of the greatest gifts is being able to trust others with meaningful responsibilities and to know they will serve faithfully. This month, I experienced that gift firsthand."
"The Hispanic Young Adults Group hosted a special celebration honoring their mothers and the mothers who regularly attend the group. This event provided an opportunity for fellowship, appreciation, and community building among members and families. The LIGHT Group successfully concluded their first Bible study using The Crux, engaging in meaningful discussions that helped deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith and discipleship. Following the completion of this study, the group has now begun a new Bible study and discussion series based on The Chosen, allowing participants to reflect on Scripture and the life of Christ through weekly conversations and fellowship."
"One of our core members has been planning an event around science and faith with a guest speaker, Fr. Tran. This topic is something he’s always been passionate about, but it’s been really neat to see how the Holy Spirit guided him to planning, leading, and executing this event for the parish. More than 30 people came – of all ages – even though the event was sponsored by the young adults’ and men’s ministry. My favorite part of this ministry moment is that three young adult core team members got to have dinner with Fr. Tran after the event. That lasted for hours, where they just got to know one another and talk about a whole range of topics. We are already talking about our next event – hopefully, on AI!"
