Year In Pictures: 2019

To sum up a whole year in a couple pictures and a handful of words is nearly impossible. It is a challenge we, the Saint Meinrad communications office, accept every year. We try to cover every program and all major events, while decisively narrowing a year’s worth of pictures down to the best of the best; the most storytelling pictures, the ones with the most emotion, or the quiet subtle moments, or with magical light.

This year we came away with 99 pictures. You can view them all in this SmugMug gallery

Some highlights from 2019 at Saint Meinrad include:

  • Five monks made solemn vows, four in January, and one in August

  • The Uncorrupt Heart of St. John Vianney visited

  • Over 200 people participated in the sixth annual Day of Service

  • Forty-nine students earned master’s degrees in May

  • The Abbey Press building was razed

  • “One Bread, One Cup” hosted 446 participants for their summer conferences

  • The 2019-20 school year opened with 122 seminarians and 69 graduate theology students enrolled.

As we begin 2020, it’s good to look back and see where we have been. I’m looking forward to seeing where God will take us in the year ahead.
