Deacons’ Chant Workshop: The Exultet

At the Easter Vigil, the most “dazzling” of nights, the Exultet is a high liturgical point in both the Church year and in a deacon’s liturgical ministry. This workshop will teach skills and strategies for effectively proclaiming this immense chant. Participants will learn vocal techniques for breath support, pitch clarity, and vocal stamina. Rehearsals will divide the chant into sections based on textual and musical structure to build a prayerful and consistent method for singing the entire Exultet by the end of the workshop. Whether you're newly ordained or have been singing the Exultet for years, this training will help you grow in confidence and skill in singing at the Easter Vigil.

The workshop will begin at 10:00am (Central Time) on Friday, March 5 and conclude at 3:00pm on Saturday, March 6.
