Saint Meinrad Archabbey has an opening for a Director of Liturgical Music.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

This role will provide all aspects of liturgical music in the daily celebration of the seminary's liturgies. This includes planning, coordinating and accompanying daily communal prayer and mass, directing the Seminary Schola, and assisting in programming for the Institute for Sacred Music.

The Director has the important responsibility to educate seminarians in the fundamentals of liturgical music that they may then share in their future parishes.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Music
  • Five years of music direction experience in a
    liturgical setting
  • Skilled in piano & organ accompaniment
  • Experience in choral conducting and pedagogy
  • Knowledge of the principles of Catholic liturgy,
    sacred music, and music history
  • Excellent people skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite software as well
    as music notation software
