Dr. Schemenauer teaches the Catholic Social Ethics and Fundamental Moral Theology courses at Saint Meinrad. He wrote his dissertation on Dietrich von Hildebrand's treatment of procreation, which was published as Conjugal Love and Procreation: Dietrich von Hildebrand's Superabundant Integration with Lexington Books in 2011.
His current research focuses on two book projects. The first project looks at the relationships between social ethics and family ethics through the lens of the family as the basic social unit. The second project is a study guide for Dietrich von Hildebrand's Transformation in Christ. In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Schemenauer has given a number of parish talks related to Catholic social ethics, family ethics, and medical ethics.
Prior to joining the faculty at Saint Meinrad in 2013, he served as a faculty member at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana. He and his wife Frances have four children.
