Exhibit by Artists Br. Martin Erspamer, OSB, and Laurie Doctor

Saturday October 24 - Tuesday December 29

Archabbey Library Gallery

Saint Meinrad Archabbey Library Gallery, St. Meinrad, IN, will present a collaboration of two artists: Br. Martin Erspamer, OSB, a monk of Saint Meinrad, and Laurie Doctor, of Louisville, KY. The exhibit will run from October 24 to December 29, 2026.

Br. Martin has been a monk of Saint Meinrad since 2005. He works as a liturgical artist and designs stained glass for churches throughout the United States. He is also an accomplished ceramic artist.

Doctor is an American painter, writer, and calligrapher. For over 25 years, she has cultivated an active lecture and workshop schedule across three continents. Her artwork is in permanent collections in the U.S. and Europe, including Akademie der Künste (Berlin), the Klingspor Museum (Offenbach), Special Collections at the University of Colorado, New Editions Gallery in Lexington, KY, and the Harrison Collection in San Francisco.

Doctor states: “The opportunity to collaborate is a chance to experiment with new forms and discover what can happen in the cross-pollination with another artist. I don’t know how I got so lucky to be collaborating with Br. Martin or how to describe the joy of those moments when our collaboration is sailing—I only know that I am glad to be here.”

The exhibit includes ceramics and works on paper, including the design by Br. Martin for a 32-foot tapestry created for Christ Cathedral, Garden Grove, CA.
