An oil painting titled “Koleen” created by plein air painter Wyatt LeGrand

Saint Meinrad Archabbey Library Gallery, St. Meinrad, IN, will host an exhibit of oil paintings by Wyatt LeGrand. The exhibit titled “Seasons” will run from September 3, 2024, until October 14, 2024.

LeGrand is a plein air painter and teacher from Bloomfield, IN. This exhibit showcases work executed on location where changing light conditions necessitate spontaneity and speed of execution. He explains, “I find the most satisfaction in the experience of putting brush to canvas, letting the things I see before me flow from eye to heart to hand to brush.”

He earned a degree in visual arts education in 2009 from Indiana University. He has won many awards in juried shows including Best of Show in 2019 and 2017 at the Indiana Plein Air Painters “First Brush of Spring” event in New Harmony, IN.

LeGrand teaches visual art to grades 6-12 at Bloomfield Middle/High School, and his work is represented in collections across the country. His website can be found at wyattlegrand.com.
