This past October, six of our Cathedral young adults embarked on a life-changing pilgrimage to Italy. Walking in the footsteps of saints, praying in sacred spaces, and experiencing the global Church firsthand left a deep impression on each of them.
What’s been even more beautiful is how that encounter with Christ abroad transformed their lives back home. Every single one of them is now part of our Young Adult Core Team—and four began volunteering with our middle school youth ministry shortly after the trip. Several of them also took the lead in launching Adoramus, our new Eucharistic Adoration group for young adults, as well as organizing a recent hiking trip with our bishop!
Some of these leaders had already been formed through our semi-annual Young Adult Initiative gatherings at Saint Meinrad, and their “yes” to the pilgrimage became a spark that ignited even greater involvement in the life of our parish and diocese.
It’s been a joy to watch these young adults grow not only in their faith but also in their leadership. The fruits of their journey continue to bless our parish community in powerful and lasting ways.
