May 29, 2013

Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy's Lake Institute on Faith & Giving is conducting a pilot program of its Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising (ECRF) September 9-12, 2013.

The certificate program is being hosted by Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology's Institute for Priests and Presbyterates and will be held on the Saint Meinrad campus in St. Meinrad, IN.

The ECRF is aimed at meeting the growing needs of religious leaders in faith-based organizations and institutions, such as theological seminaries, Christian or religiously based colleges, independent mega-congregations, denominational development offices, traditional congregations and faith-based nonprofits.

The ECRF is intended to serve individual clergy who wish to gain an expertise in fundraising principles and practices and to train development personnel who serve faith-based organizations.

Presenters will include Dr. William G. Enright, director of Lake Institute and former senior pastor of Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, IN; Dr. Eugene Tempel, founding dean of the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy; and Daniel Conway, senior vice president for planning, marketing and advancement at Marian University, Indianapolis.

The program's curriculum includes four one-day core courses, selected readings, online peer-group conversations, an integration paper outlining a year-long fundraising program and a final paper assessing the effectiveness of the fundraising program. Successful participants will receive the Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising.

The cost of the program is $1,050 until July 12. After July 12, the cost is $1,250. The fee includes accommodations and meals. The deadline for registration is July 26.
