Dr. Schemenauer's research focuses on marriage, sexual ethics, Catholic social teaching, and fundamental moral theology. He wrote his dissertation on Dietrich von Hildebrand's treatment of procreation which was published as Conjugal Love and Marriage: Dietrich von Hildebrand's Superabundant Integration with Lexington Books in 2011. Kevin also has given a number of parish lectures related to Catholic social teaching.

His current research is focused on the impact of consumerism on family life, the educational role of the family specifically as it relates to Catholic social teaching, and comparing the writings of Dietrich von Hildebrand and Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II's in the area of marriage and sexual ethics.

Prior to joining the faculty at St. Meinrad in 2013, he served as a faculty member at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana.
