Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology is seeking an Administrative Assistant for Young Adult Initiative to assist the Director of the Young Adult Initiative in carrying out the program's mission. This new grant-funded program will serve young Catholics ages 23-29.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs

  • Oversee the research and development of information and update the program website in conjunction with the website provider and technician

  • Prepare and process information to be uploaded to the internal website

  • Oversee the production of program and retail resources

  • Maintain and update all records

  • Prepare and distribute all registration and application forms

  • Collect and record all participant and event registration data

  • Oversee program billing in conjunction with the Business Office

  • Coordinate travel for catechists and YAI facilitators

  • Oversee registration during YAI consultations

  • Serve as recording secretary of the YAI staff/facilitator consultations

  • Oversee website content and function

  • Oversee production of print/electronic materials

  • Oversee all aspects of program preparation: housing, meals, travel, etc.

  • Coordinate application and interview of parish cohort members, in collaboration with the Director

  • Maintain day-to-day office responsibilities

  • Coordinate housing, meals, ID materials and hospitality needs for program staff, interns, and participants

Experience & Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business administration, organizational leadership and supervision, communications, or similar field, or equivalent experience

  • Organizational, planning, budgeting, oral and written communication skills

  • Interpersonal and collaborative skills in dealing with staff members and other publics

  • Knowledge and proficiency in appropriate office computer programs and ability to learn new programs when necessary

  • Experience working with various software applications:

    • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and various social media platforms

    • Website data upload experience recommended

    • Desktop publishing experience beneficial

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the department

  • Language other than English an asset
