Saint Meinrad highly recommends and encourages students to
balance their lives with leisure and exercise.
Athletics
Saint Meinrad's wellness director and
student volunteers oversee intramural sports programs. A gymnasium
provides areas for basketball and volleyball.
The ground floor of Newman Hall houses a wellness and fitness
center, with weightlifting and exercise equipment, locker rooms,
and classrooms for wellness activities.
Outdoor facilities include tennis and racquetball courts, lakes
for fishing, and paths and rural roads for walking, running and
biking. National and state parks for hiking, swimming and camping
are nearby.
Coffee Shop
Jack's in the Commons, a student-operated coffee shop located in
the Alumni Commons on campus is a great place for students, faculty
and guests to study, relax or socialize. Jack's offerings include
coffees, teas, smoothies, shakes and more, as well as a small
assortment of baked snacks including cookies and scones. Jack's is
open during the fall and spring semesters and at occasional times
during the summer.
Pub
The UnStable, a student-operated pub on campus, provides a place
for students and guests to relax and enjoy camaraderie during fall
and spring semesters. Students who present a student identification
card receive discounted prices at the UnStable.
Events
Concerts, performances and lectures are scheduled throughout the
year at Saint Meinrad.
