Oil paintings on exhibit at Archabbey Library Gallery

Tuesday, September 5- Wednesday, September 13
Location: Archabbey Library Gallery

Kolb -K-Looking -Out -the -Back -Door -for -webSaint Meinrad Archabbey Library Gallery, St. Meinrad, IN, is hosting an exhibit of oil paintings that feature windows by Kazhia Kolb from September 5-13.

Kolb paints on location and windows are a favorite subject. The contrast between the bright light outside and the more subdued interior light provides inspiration. The structured domestic scene is balanced with the less organized natural world beyond.

This collection of paintings is biographical in that the windows are of Kolb's current residence in St. Meinrad, IN, and of previous homes in Annapolis, MD, Emporia, KS, and Paris, France.

Kolb exhibited her work in the area in September 2016 with a series of paintings depicting the Ohio River in the Begley Museum shop in the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science. In July, her window paintings were in the Gamut gallery in Evansville.

For library hours, call (812) 357-6401 or (800) 987-7311, or visit theArchabbey Library's website:

The exhibit is free and open to the public. Those wishing to view the exhibit may want to arrive at least 30 minutes before closing time.
