Christ-like and Meek in a World Torn by Violence and Discord

Conferences focus on non-violence and gentleness as integral to
authentic Christian spirituality. The humble Christ calls out,
"Come to me…and learn from me, for I am meek and humble in heart."
To imitate Christ requires a certain kind of meekness, which is not
weakness, but demands courage and strength (fortitude), virtues
necessary for peace when violence is more popular; to pursue
justice through reconciliation rather than retribution;
understanding and respect, when Christianity for some is reduced to
divisive apologetics; courtesy and mildness in a political
landscape bereft of civility and collaboration.
