St. Benedict on Humility

Conferences focus on Chapter 7 of the Rule of St. Benedict. The lengthiest chapter in the Rule forms an axis on which the rest of the Rule turns. Rather than a list of tasks to be achieved, the rungs of the ladder of humility signify spiritual progress in the pilgrim journey to the kingdom. The Rule provides spiritual guidance to Christians of any particular vocation - priests, non-monastic religious and laity alike - anyone who would take the time to delve more deeply into this sixth-century Rule to discover what striving to be like Christ means for us today.
