The Cross of Jesus is the central image of the Christian faith,
because it reveals both the means of our salvation as well as the
necessary path of mature Christian living. The theological virtues
of faith, hope and love give a distinctive shape to the Christian
life under the shadow of the Cross, with a vision of the fullness
of life yet to come. These virtues are both a gift from God as well
as a daily challenge for faithful living.
