Youth Programs

"One Bread, One Cup" embraces two youth programs hosted by Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology and the community of Benedictine monks at Saint Meinrad Archabbey.

Summer Conferences for High School Students

Each summer, Saint Meinrad hosts several "One Bread, One Cup" gatherings. At these five-day liturgical leadership conferences, youth and adults discover the Catholic Church's treasures of Word, Sacrament and Mission. They also enjoy fellowship and fun (team building, outdoor recreation, variety show and dance). Participants come to appreciate the Benedictine balance of prayer, work and recreation.

Summer Conferences

During our conferences, attendees learn to use their God-given talents in liturgical ministry during formation sessions, then take those skills back to their parishes.

Internships for College Students

The "One Bread, One Cup" Internship Program is a six-week internship for college-age students. Interns come from throughout the United States to be formed in Benedictine spirituality for ministry in the Church and taught by monks and faculty of Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. The interns also serve as staff, catechists and theological reflection group leaders for the "One Bread, One Cup" summer conferences.

Young Adult Initiative

Helping parishes connect with young adults is the goal of the Saint Meinrad Young Adult Initiative. The five-year project works with 16 partner parishes to assist them in developing innovative programs and ministries to meet the spiritual needs of adults ages 23-29. A key objective is to strengthen the domestic church of young adult households.
