The continuing formation of deacons ... must be seen in continuity with the divine call to serve the Church in the ministry and with the initial formation given to deacons, to the extent that these are considered two initial moments in a single, living, process of Christian and diaconal life.

Saint Meinrad offers various opportunities for ongoing formation for deacons. In addition to graduate-level theology courses and degrees, we offer several certificate programs.

Specialization Certificates: Deacons seeking further formation for particular ministries in the Church can benefit from focused study in different areas, including Church history, ethics and moral theology, liturgical and sacramental theology, pastoral studies, Scripture, spirituality, and systematic theology.
