Here are brief profiles of some members of the Saint Meinrad monastic community.

Fr. Meinrad Brune, OSB

Education History:

  • BA in Philosophy - Saint Meinrad College (1958)
  • MA in Political Theory - Butler University
  • MDiv - Saint Meinrad Seminary

Prior Work/Life Experience:  Taught 16 years in Saint Meinrad High School and College; Pastor for seven years, 3 at St. Meinrad Parish and 4 at St. Mary in Huntingburg, IN; 10 years in the Development Office including 9 as Alumni Director; for 17 years Director of Benedictine Oblates of Saint Meinrad Archabbey.

Other Interests:  I enjoy reading, listening to novels on CDs, walking each day, traveling to oblate chapter meetings.

What Attracted Me to Monastic Life:  I had a six-year older blood brother in the monastery, and I came to visit him and became acquainted with many of the monks.
