Co-workers honored for their service
September 29, 2016
Saint Meinrad Archabbey, St. Meinrad, IN, honored
78 active co-workers and 64 retirees who have 25 years or more of
service during the annual Service Recognition Banquet on September
"A major part of our work as a monastic community is to pray,"
said Fr. Adrian Burke, OSB, who spoke at the banquet. "As men
committed to prayer, we pray often for the success of our business
ventures - for your success. We believe in the work you do - that
it is meaningful and value-laden. And a world too often caught up
in superficial values, scandalously engaged in violence, and beaten
down by anxiety, fear and terror needs a positive message of hope
and charity, mercy and Godly values."
Seven co-workers received special recognition during the
banquet. Pam Dowland of Tell City, IN; Jim Backer of St. Meinrad,
IN; Anita Davis of St. Croix, IN; and Rita Marsili of Gatchel, IN;
