COOK/KITCHEN ASSISTANT

Introduction
Saint Meinrad Archabbey has a part-time opening for a
Cook/Kitchen Assistant in Food Services. This individual will
replace cooks on their days off/vacations and assist with meal
preparation on an as-needed basis. Learning other kitchen
jobs in order to replace co-workers on their days off/vacations is
also required. Evening hours and weekends are
necessary. Hours will average 20-30 per week.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assumes all responsibilities and performs all duties of cooks
on their days off/vacations.
- Assists both cooks when needed as they prepare their respective
meals.
- Assists with special functions as needed.
- Learns other kitchen jobs in order to assist/replace co-workers
on their days off/vacations.
Experience & Qualifications
- Must be able to work independently and have an ability to
relate well with others.
- Requires some lifting and constant standing.
- Previous experience in food service preferred but not
mandatory.
- Requires the ability to read and follow specific instructions,
whether written or verbal.
- Basic math skills required.
