Monastery Event
A Monastic Observance: A Come And See Experience
Thursday, December 27- Tuesday, January 1
Location: Saint Meinrad Archabbey

From Dec. 27 - Jan. 1, the monks of
Saint Meinrad Archabbey offer men between the ages of 18 and 40 the
opportunity to discern if they may be called to the Benedictine way
of life. "A Monastic Observance" is a six-day experience of prayer,
work and community-building, in which participants follow the daily
horarium (schedule) of the monastery and interact with the
monks.
Daily formation conferences presented by individual monks will
cover topics related to monastic prayer, monastic work, the
monastic vows, celibacy and the process of discernment. There will
be opportunities to talk with those currently in formation about
their experiences, to meet the novie/junior master and to visit
with the director of vocations.
Accomodation will be provided in our Guest House and Retreat
Center, which include private bathrooms. The noon and evening meals
will be taken in the monastery refectory with the monks. Work
periods will include both indoor and outdoor work.
For more information, contact the vocations
office.
